The Technologies for Worship Conference Expands Dynamically at Infocomm 2007
Building on the momentum created at last year’s show, TFWM and the Technologies for Worship Conference added several new seminars to their education tract sessions, and expanded on the free hands-on workshops running at the Worship Pavilion.
All day sessions were presented from June 17 - 18, prior to the opening of the trade show floor on Tuesday, and included seminars on How to Manage Video Technology Systems, How to Plan, Shoot and Edit in A Day, All Day Audio Mixing Workshop, All Day Building Design, All Day Theatrical Production Design and Multi-Sensory Ministry. From June 19th - 21st , the Technologies for Worship Conference presented core seminars ranging from Internet Streaming to Current Video Server Technology and its Use Within Houses of Worship, to name just a few. TFWM also introduced some new seminars, including Softedge Blending – Case Study, presented by Laurent Callieau, and a series of sessions presented by John Chevalier that focused on ministry team building and preparation.
“In the past, there has been a huge gap in technical education that is geared toward houses of worship. The relationship between music ministry, technical ministry and pastoral ministry is extremely important, but sometimes ignored,” Chevalier stated. “The education that TFWM provides to local churches is invaluable as we, together, reach our communities with the message of Jesus in a way that is relevant to our society as a whole.”
Shelagh Rogers, founder of TFWM and the Technologies for Worship Conference, agrees. “What we do is so important, because the Houses of Worship market, despite its massive size, is often overlooked when it comes to technologies and education. Today’s churches aren’t like the churches from even 20 years ago – they are more dynamic and more aware that technology can be a valuable tool for ministry outreach and growth. By gearing our education sessions to the specific needs of Houses of Worship, from Internet Streaming to Podcasting; LED Lighting to Acoustical Design; we create an opportunity for churches to learn."
In conjunction with a strong set of seminars, the Technologies for Worship Conference featured several exciting hands-on workshops including Analog and Digital Console training, Line Array sessions, camera jib operation, interview lighting, and of course, the Quiet Stage, a cornerstone at the Technologies for Worship Pavilion® on the trade show floor.
Between workshops, Christian musician Amber Lee and her band performed on the revolutionary Quiet Stage. Amber Lee has been performing at the Technologies for Worship Conference for five years now. “I love performing for TFWM,” she stated, “The equipment I get to use is top-of-the-line and I get to try out new product like this year’s InEars system. The show attendees are always excited to be here, and I get the best feeling performing for them.”
