AVLEX INTRODUCES SUPERLUX PRA-618M PROFESSIONAL GOOSENECK MICROPHONE

Performance and value are the ideal combination for numerous applications

Kansas City, MO – April 2008 … Avlex Corporation, the name audio professionals turn to for world-class wireless technology, microphones, and portable PA systems, is pleased to introduce the new Superlux PRA-618M Professional Gooseneck Microphone. Tailored specifically for reproduction of the human voice, the new PRA-618M makes a terrific choice for a wide range of installed sound projects, including conference facilities, board rooms, lecture halls, and houses of worship.

The new Superlux PRA-618M Professional Gooseneck Microphone features a miniature dynamic capsule that has the advantages of a super-cardioid polar pattern. Benefits of this design include a tailored vocal frequency response and the ability to pick up from a greater distance while delivering higher gain before feedback. The result is a versatile conference-type microphone that is ideal for speech reinforcement in a broad range of installed sound applications. With high gain before feedback, the new PRA-618M delivers plenty of level without one having to be positioned uncomfortably close to the microphone.

The Superlux PRA-618M Professional Gooseneck Microphone has a frequency response range of 100 Hz – 15 kHz and a sensitivity rating of -56 dBv/pa @ 1.6 mv/pa. The microphone’s rated impedance is 500 ohms while the maximum SPL rating is 140 dB (THD ≤ 1% 1000 Hz). The microphone’s neck includes two flexible segments (upper and lower—each 3 inches in length) and a fixed middle segment of 6.14 inches.

The PRA-618M ships with the included HM-22 compression lock flange mount that facilitates easy installation into tables, lecterns, and other conference room equipment. For superior isolation from table and similar noises, Avlex carries two optionally available HM-24 die-cast zinc alloy anti-shock mounts—both with female XLR connectors to receive the microphone. The standard HM-24 requires conventional wiring while the HM-24C includes a 6-foot cable terminated with a male XLR connector.

Jack Nead, national sales manager for Avlex Corporation, commented on the new Superlux PRA-618M Professional Gooseneck Microphone, “The new PRA-618M is a great sounding, versatile gooseneck mic that, because of its high gain before feedback characteristics, makes a terrific choice for a myriad of installed sound projects. Speech reinforcement is exceptionally clear with plenty of level and, as a result, this microphone provides greater freedom of movement as opposed to many similar products that force one to stay uncomfortably close to the mic when speaking. With a highly competitive price, this microphone delivers great return on investment. I’m confident contractors will find the PRA-618M an excellent choice for their fixed sound projects.”

The new Superlux PRA-618M Professional Gooseneck Microphone carries a MSRP of $46. The microphone is available now.
