ALTINEX ANNOUNCES RELEASE OF NEW MULTITOUCH™ TOUCH SCREEN PANELS

Designed for intuitive control of AV equipment

Brea, CA – May 2008… Altinex, a leading manufacturer of Modular AV Solutions™, is pleased to announce it is broadening its presence in AV control systems with the introduction of the new MultiTouch line of touch screen panels. With seven models featuring an intuitive graphical user interface (GUI), the new MultiTouch product line is directly compatible with Altinex’ MultiTasker® modular AV system and can also be used with other manufacturers’ equipment.

Each MultiTouch panel provides a wealth of connectivity options designed to provide maximum flexibility for controlling today’s sophisticated AV systems. Each panel is provided with dual RS-232 ports, two network ports, two to four USB ports (depending upon model), along with a built in wireless access network plus Bluetooth. Additionally, the MultiTouch panels’ wireless access capability can be permanently disabled for use in secure environments.

Altinex’ new MultiTouch touch screen panels are available in sizes ranging from seven inches to nineteen inches, ensuring a perfect fit—both functionally and aesthetically—for a wide range of environments. All MultiTouch panels are powered by an external 12V universal power adapter.
Designed to facilitate unlimited control capabilities, an embedded Windows® XP operating system resides at the heart of the new MultiTouch control panels. In addition to their operational ease, these new panels are a breeze to program using the company’s AVSnap® system design and control application software. The combination of the familiar Windows interface and easy-to-use AVSnap application development software makes it a breeze to develop a comprehensive and visually pleasing GUI on a local computer and then effortlessly transfer it to the MultiTouch panel via a USB flash drive or a wireless IP connection.

To minimize the time and cost associated with programming, each MultiTouch panel comes with one page of user interface programming pre-programmed by Altinex. Additional pages of programming can be purchased in five page increments. A comprehensive GUI development tool and programming samples are included with AVSnap for those who wish to handle system programming by themselves.

Altinex President and CEO Jack Gershfeld commented on the company’s new MultiTouch touch screen panels. “With the introduction of the MultiTouch panels,” said Gershfeld, “Altinex is now making it easier than ever to design and implement an AV control system from A to Z. The MultiTouch panels, AVSnap software, and MultiTasker modular AV system make an unbeatable combination for creating a state-of-the-art AV environment with comprehensive control and interfacing for a wide range of conferencing and presentation equipment. I’m confident system integrators will find this equipment a compelling choice for their projects and their clients will achieve a higher level of control capability than they ever anticipated.”
The new Altinex MultiTouch touch screen panels range in MSRP pricing from $2,100 to $3,145. All models are available now.
