The Loudness Family, with its SurroundControl, SurroundMonitor, and DigitalMonitor, includes an integrated loudness display conforming to the ITU BS.1771 guideline as a standard feature. With this line-up, RTW offers easy-to-use solutions for monitoring the loudness of stereo, multichannel, and surround signals in a wide range of applications, as a complement or an alternative to conventional peak meters. Users can select integrated loudness measurement, as per ITU BS.1771 for stereo signals, as an alternative to the usual peak meter bar graphs. This feature can be activated quickly and easily via suitably programmed presets.
SurroundControl 31900/31960
The revamped RTW SurroundControl family includes eight-channel systems for professional production, post-production, and broadcast applications that control, monitor, and analyze surround sound using the unique RTW Surround Sound Analyzer. Developed by RTW, the Surround Sound Analyzer — discernable by the industry renowned "house"-shaped symbol — features easy-to-read, visual display of overall sound, including loudness and sound pressure level, phase correlation, and level differences among channels.
The SurroundControl 31900 is designed for audio studio applications and fits in a 19-inch, 1-RU case, while the SurroundControl 31960 is sized as a half 19-inch, 3-RU rack-mountable module for use with standard 19-inch installation racks for waveform monitors in video studios.
Remote Display 30010
The Remote Display 30010, a dedicated 8.4-inch VGA monitor featuring function keys situated below the display screen, further enhances the ergonomics of the SurroundMonitor 11900. It also controls the instrument functions of the SurroundControl 31900. Connected to the VGA connectors, the Remote Display 30010 allows the user to remotely visualize all instruments, options, and measurement values of the units.
SurroundControl 31900SD/31960SD
The SurroundControl 31900SD and 31960SD feature an HD- and SD-capable SDI de-embedder interface as well as analog and digital audio inputs and outputs. The new SDI interface can access all 16 (4 x 4) audio channels implemented in SDI streams and use them for both visual display and audio monitoring. In 2007, RTW joined the Dolby® E Partner family and now all standard and SDI versions of SurroundControl are available with a Dolby E and Dolby AC-3 decoder option, giving direct access to coded data streams for analysis and control without the need for external decoding. Like the standard SurroundControl 31900/31960, the extended versions feature a full-blown, eight-channel surround monitoring controller with a downmix matrix as well as the Surround Sound Analyzer.
SurroundMonitor 10800X-PLUS
The RTW Multichannel and Surround Audio Vectorscope SurroundMonitor 10800X-PLUS (including table-stand and mains adapter) is an eight-channel desktop audio vectorscope with peak program meters, a surround-sound analyzer, and analog and digital inputs. Especially designed for multichannel and surround sound, with support for 2/0, 3/0, 3/1, and 3/2 (5.1) formats, the unit features an eight-channel multi-standard peak meter and a Surround Sound Analyzer with a graphic display including complete sound volume and balance indicators. The 10800X-PLUS also features modes including a 31-band RTA, real-time vectorscopes (two- and four-channel), multi-phase meters, and an AES/EBU status monitor.
DigitalMonitor 10500X-PLUS
The DigitalMonitor 10500X-PLUS incorporates ITU-compliant loudness display and full-screen mode. The RTW DigitalMonitor 10500X-PLUS, a high-performance, cost-effective display system for monitoring digital stereo audio signals, comes with an integrated loudness display in compliance with the ITU BS.1771 guideline. Further enhancements include a new full-screen mode for enlarged display showing the individual instruments in use. All current-production DigitalMonitor 10500X-PLUS systems leave the factory with loudness display options included.
SurroundMonitor 10600-PLUS
The SurroundMonitor 10600-PLUS, a high-performance, budget-friendly display system for monitoring digital stereo, multichannel, and surround audio signals, incorporates an integrated loudness display according to the ITU BS.1771 guideline. Further improvements include a full-screen mode for enlarged display showing individual instruments used as well as detail enhancements within the featured Surround Sound Analyzer. All current-production SurroundMonitor 10600 systems leave the factory with enhanced display options; existing units can be updated free of charge by replacing the built-in EPROM. The PLUS option includes the power supply and a table-stand.
