Each attendee will be evaluated at the completion of each session, and a positive evaluation will result in a certificat de reuissir. Additionally, attendees of the full eight-week program will have the opportunity to qualify for our prix d'or in Technical Training.

One of the most unique aspects of the training offered by SILV is that the faculty and classroom components are continuously evolving. As SILV focuses on training for the future needs of the industry, the basic concepts one works with every day are at the core of our training. As founder Don Childs often says, “If you understand the basics, you can do anything.”

Our industry partners who contribute to the training facilities and faculty that we work with are another aspect of SILV's unique offerings. We are pleased to announce that as we begin our third year of training, the Clark Country School District of Las Vegas is our Operations Partner and with the assistance of Gary Sessa, Facilitator for Theatre and Dance for the District, CCSD will be hosting SILV in the theatre and ancillary spaces of Bonanza High School at 6665 W Del Ray Ave.

We also welcome Selecon Light (newest member of the Philips Global Entertainment Lighting Group), Silver States Wire Rope of Las Vegas (including both Andrew and Peter Rogers), and Kryolan Professional Makeup, generously thanks to Claudia Longo, has become a Partner in our first venture into makeup training with the specialty this summer being Moulage Makeup.

Additionally our faculty for 2009 will include Matt Dillingham of Advanced Entertainment Systems, Valy Tremblay of Proluxon Inc - Montreal, Brian Gale of NYXdesign LLC, Andrew Campbell of Cold Blue, Jason Badger and Matt McAdam independent moving lights programmers, Kris Hassen of Sam Houston State University, Leonard Miller and Scott Church of Philips Global Entertainment Lighting Group,Luc Lafortune, Louis Bradfield of Jubilee, Raphael Jaen of Emerson College, Randy Davidson of Risk International, Don Holder of Lion King, Peter Norkye of San Diego State University, Eric Mongerson of Concordia University, Montreal, Sonny Sonnenfeld , Nol van Genuchten, Jim Holladay of PRG Las Vegas, Will Burns, Cory Walker of Morpheus Lighting, Joe McGeough Flying by Foy, Yves Aucoin, and Alan Lee of BlissLights.

SILV believes that live entertainment technology is the path to career opportunities for a diverse spectrum of students. In order to enhance the long-range opportunities for our students, we will cap the training program this summer with our Job Fair that is attended by a great variety of employers. They represent both internship possibilities as well as part-time and full-time employment both present and future. We are enhancing our Job Fair with presentational packets that will be forwarded to enterprises both domestic and abroad who have expressed interest in seeing the resumes of our “graduates.”
