MATTEI APPOINTED VICE PRESIDENT AND GENERAL MANAGER OF LEVITON’S COMMERCIAL AND INDUSTRIAL BUSINESS
Little Neck, NY, July 10, 2008 – Leviton is pleased to announce the appointment of Mike Mattei to the position of Vice President and General Manager for its Commercial and Industrial business. In his new post, Mattei is responsible for building sales of the company’s commercial and industrial wiring devices and systems across its electrical distribution, retail and end-user market channels.
Mattei joined Leviton in 2004 as Director of Fiber Optic Systems, when Leviton acquired and integrated his company, Fiber Management Solutions, into its Network Solutions business. Under his direction, Leviton’s fiber optic business has experienced significant growth and today continues as one of the fastest growing segments of the company’s operations.
Prior to starting his own company, Mattei worked for Tyco Electronics, as Senior Vice President of its Ditel Division, where he increased sales five-fold in a four-year period and helped launch new product lines within the fast-paced telecommunications industry. He also worked for Porta Systems Corporation as a Senior Project Engineer and for Eaton Corporation as a Mechanical Engineer.
With 19 years of experience in the communications industry and an extensive background in engineering, business development, and product and sales planning, Mattei brings a diverse management background and impressive credentials to his new post. He holds an MS from Polytechnic University and a BS from Carnegie-Mellon University, and lives in St. James, New York with his wife and family.
