Denver, CO, July 22, 2008 The RapcoHorizon Company, a leading manufacturer of audio/video interfacing and cable equipment, is unveiling its new 2EZ SVGA cable at CEDIA 2008 (Booth 336). The second generation of the EZ Coax cable, the new 2EZ, developed by RapcoHorizon Company sister corporation, Major Custom Cable, exudes simplicity with fast installation of SVGA/XGA cable.

With no need for soldering any connectors in the field, installation can be swiftly completed. Highly versatile, the 2EZ cable can be routed through walls, conduits and ceilings using normal installation procedures without concern over connector damage. It is equipped with a CMP jacket for installs involving plenum environments and has a rugged XLR that provides improved strain relief at 360 degrees to resist damage with a 50lb pull force over the original EZ-Pull din connecter, which only was capable of 15lb pull force.

The 2EZ is also is built to withstand heaving through 3/4’’conduit that includes sweep 90 degree bends and is rated at SVGA at 200 ft., XGA at 150 ft., and XSGA at 100 ft. resolution. High resolutions are available at 50 ft. The 2EZ cables can be factory equipped with a pulling grip and/ pulling eye upon request. Customers can order the 2EZ cable to their personal specifications including length, connector type that can be equipped with or without wall plates.

“The reason that this cable was developed was due the need for a ruggedized solution for high resolution video cables that can save contractors time, and essentially money, in terms of labor for video systems,” says Ronald Hastings, product development manager for Major Custom Cable. “While there are different manufacturers of his type of system, the 2EZ allows for a plug together and unplug solution that can adapt to any connector type such as HD-15, BNC, RCA, S-Video and 3.5 mm stereo combinations with a 75 ohm cabling system.”
