Avitech Launches New HD Multiviewers at IBC 2008 –
Stand No. 11.A67

July 31, 2008 - Redmond, Washington, USA – Avitech International, developer and manufacturer of innovative and cost-effective Multiviewers, will unveil multiple new HD Multiviewers at IBC 2008 – Stand No. 11.A67, including the Rainier-4U, and Rainier-4U1v.

Avitech’s Multiviewers have been designed to address the challenges of HD monitoring, including support for HD-SDI and SD-SDI inputs and delivering high resolution outputs up to 1920 x 1200 at 50 or 60 Hz, including 1080p. They offer an extensive feature set including; input auto-detection, source window sizing and positioning capabilities, full-screen mode allowing users to turn any of the source windows to full screen, ability to cascade modules for large-scale monitoring applications, static / dynamic labels, tally support, and much more.

New Rainier-4U:
The new Rainier-4U is an advanced multi-image display processor with 4 auto-detecting HD/SD-SDI/composite video inputs capable of fixed quad-split and full screen functionality.

New Rainier-4U1v:
The new Rainier-4U1v accepts 4 auto-detecting video inputs plus 1 high resolution DVI / VGA input. Source windows can be sized and positioned freely including the DVI / VGA input (which is also used for cascading modules). Up to 4 modules can be cascaded to provide a mixed monitoring environment for up to 16 video inputs and 1 DVI / VGA input.

Both of these new products complement the existing Rainier Series of Multiviewers and are housed in a compact ½ rack unit making them ideal for space restrictive applications. Avitech’s Rainier Series of Multiviewers are known for being cost-effective, offering high-resolution output display when matched with high-quality monitors. They exhibit minimal processing delay (1 frame maximum.) Both of these new modules also offer Ethernet connectivity for control and configuration.

Avitech is taking orders now and shipments are planned for the end of 2008.

New Avitech Hardware Panel:
Avitech is also introducing to the market at IBC their brand new Touch-screen Avitech Control Panel (TACP). The TACP shares the same capabilities and look and feel of the existing Avitech Software Control Panel, which provides configuration and control of Avitech’s full line of Multiviewers.

The unit can be either rack-or-surface-mounted and comes standard with Ethernet, Serial, and USB connectivity. The TACP configuration is extremely flexible. The user can associate one or more Avitech ASCII commands to each button (number and size of buttons are user-defined) which support either very simple or very complex functionality. One TACP can control multiple groups of modules and a single group of modules can be controlled by multiple TACPs.

Avitech will be showcasing these flexible new products at IBC 2008 – Stand No. 11.A67 in a variety of applications catering to the broadcast, government, security & surveillance, and ProAV markets.
