The Netherlands, Amsterdam, August 18, 2008 – RF Central, a leading provider of digital microwave technology, is rolling out its new RFX-PRX-II portable handheld COFDM monitor/receiver at IBC (Stand 1.A30). Ideal for a wide range of applications including ENG confidence monitoring and security surveillance, this lightweight palm-sized receiver (available in 2 GHz and 5.8 GHz) is packaged in a compact housing that spans just 16 x 12 x 3.8 centimeters. To ensure durability, the system is fully ruggedized using an ABS plastic shell.

“RF Central has taken its signature RFX-PRX to new heights by streamlining its system into a smaller and more compact design,” says RF Central CEO Jeff Winemiller. “With the new RFX-PRX-II, ENG crews, TV production directors and police agencies are provided with the ability to receive microwave signals for technical, confidence or security monitoring applications that require discreet equipment.”

Delivering extreme sensitivity, the PRX-II is equipped with a 5.6 inch high-resolution screen and offers record and playback capabilities via a user replaceable flash memory card. While currently available in 2 GHz and 5.8 GHz frequency bands, other frequency bands can be furnished upon request. Additionally, the PRX-II is CE approved and RoHS compliant. The unit receives COFDM DVB-T modulation in modes QPSK, 16QAM and 64 QAM.
