W-DMX™ BLACKBOX S-2000 DEBUTS AT PLASA

Uddevalla, Sweden – AUGUST 24, 2008 – Wireless Solution Sweden AB is proud to announce the debut of the W-DMX™ BlackBox S-2000 during PLASA08, held September 7-10 at Earls Court in London. Wireless Solution will be exhibiting in Stand D51. In addition to new gear, there will be a drawing for free W-DMX products plus many more surprises.

The W-DMX BlackBox S-2000 is a 19” 1U Rack unit that is prepared for ACN Lite, ETC-NET and Strand ShowNET. This is the world’s first double universe transmitter that supports both RDM and Art-Net. BlackBox S-2000 is stackable for up to 32 DMX Universes and supports the W-DMX Co-Existence technology with plug-and-play ease.

With full RDM compatibility, the W-DMX BlackBox S-2000 is the only unit that supports remote addressing for up to 512 fixtures in both Point-2-Point mode in daisy chain by cable and in Point-2-Multi-Point mode. This translates to major time savings in big rental productions. With the BlackBox S-2000, a new generation of Wireless lighting control products is born.

Before S-2000, the maximum number of universes one could operate wirelessly from one transmitter was 16. Over the last few years, the size of productions that have used W-DMX has grown to monstrous proportions. Suddenly, 16 universes weren’t enough! And with the emergence of more and more new technologies and protocols, the S-2000 had to be compatible with everything, in order to integrate seamlessly into every application without worries of compatibility – the most notable being Wi-Fi, which is present in almost every corner of the world these days. W-DMX has always been designed and built to be interference free, and the S-2000 is the crown jewel of this achievement.

Wireless Solution will also be holding Wireless University during PLASA on Tuesday, September 9 from 3:00pm – 4:00pm in Seminar Theatre 1 in Earls Court Two. The seminar will be led by Niclas Norlén, R&D Manager for Wireless Solution and will cover topics such as pros and cons of wireless control, how it works, radio protocols (W-LAN, Bluetooth, etc.), choosing a radio system, system planning, and peripheral equipment.

W-DMX by Wireless Solution Sweden AB is the number one system on the market for Wireless DMX, winning awards at major trade shows on both sides of the Atlantic. Lighting & Sound International magazine proclaimed that W-DMX “outshone the rest” in an independent test, “The Great Wireless Shootout”. It has been used in high profile projects all over the world, including the Celine Dion World Tour, the Pyramids of Giza, Times Square in New York City and on the world’s largest ferris wheel, the Singapore Flyer.
