CO-5 Microphone is launched to meet the price and performance needs of Houses of Worship

Novato, Ca. – October 22, 2007 – Point Source Audio (PSA), a specialty manufacturer of low-profile microphones has launched the CO-5 Microphone with features that most Houses of Worship buyers have found elusive: an affordable price and a focus on speech optimization.

Ultra low-profile ear-worn microphones have become increasingly popular in recent years among performing and broadcast professionals for their aesthetic appeal, and pliability to form-fit over any user’s ear. The whisper thin boom falls back so the speaker is in the limelight—not the microphone. The CO-5 now makes these attractive features available at an unmatched price to enhance speech in Houses of Worship.

"As part of our company mission, we are highly focused on providing value to customers by designing products that are tailored to meet specific needs within the audio market segments,” says Doug Swan, Director of Sales at PSA. “Houses of Worship need a quality speech microphone at a justifiable price and not pay for what they don’t need.”

The CO-5 is an omni-directional, back-electret condenser ear-level microphone with the ability to handle 125dB of sound pressure. The microphone is designed for use with the Sennheiser® Evolution series wireless, and the Shure® SLX and ULX bodypack systems.

The low-profile microphone is available for purchase with either a 3.5mm locking mini-connector for Sennheiser® Evolution wireless body packs, a Hirose 4 pin connector for most Audio-Technica® body packs, or the TA-4F which fits most Shure wireless body packs. The CO-5 is part of the CO Series of low-profile microphones available from PSA. Product datasheets and microphone selection guide are available at www.point-sourceaudio.com.

Pricing and Availability
The CO-5 low-profile microphone is available for immediate shipping at $299 MSRP and $199 MAP (minimum advertised price) and can be purchased at local pro-sound resellers and system integration contractors.
