CYPRESS, CA, October 7, 2008 – FOR-A, a leading manufacturer of video and audio systems for the broadcast industry, will demonstrate a range of products at the upcoming HD World Conference and Exposition (Jacob Javits Center, October 15-16, Booth #930.) Among the products being showcased at HD World are the MV-1610 HS 16-input multi-viewer, the MV-410HS quad multi-viewer, the HVS-1500HS HANABI 1.5 M/E switcher, and the FRC-7000 frame rate converter.

“The HD World Conference has become a must-attend event for FOR-A,” said Mr. Susumu Hotta, President, FOR-A Corporation of America. “Each year the event gets stronger, drawing in a key audience of broadcast and video professionals from the east coast. We expect our products to draw a lot of attention at the show this year.”

The MV-1610HS supports mixed input of HD-SDI, SD-SDI and analog composite signals. High-resolution video output using a DVI terminal is included as standard. Support is also provided for user-created patterns and video transfer over a LAN connection. The viewer can be set to divide the screen in many ways, enabling the combination of small and large images. It also includes a layout editor which allows the user to make any changes to split-screen patterns from a computer.

The MV-410HS is a four-input multi-viewer that supports mixed input of HD-SDI, SD-SDI and analog composite signals and offers high-resolution video output using a DVI terminal. User-created patterns and video transfer are supported over a LAN connection. The MV-410HS includes a layout editor that enables the operator to change split-screen patterns from a computer and network video transfer function.

The HVS-1500HS switcher offers three types of control panels: 16-button, 24-button, and rack mountable 12-button versions. It comes equipped with a high-performance DVE capable of real 3D DVE effects. This true 3D DVE has polygonal-based effects where video is literally wrapped around 3D shapes. The HVS-1500HS can also accommodate an optional two quad split-screen function. The HVS-1500HS also offers four still stores, with the option to add two more.

FOR-A will also showcase its powerful frame rate converter, the FRC-7000. The FRC-7000 has been used for international feeds of major sporting and entertainment events such as the World Championships International Ice Hockey Federation, the Concert for Diana and Live Earth, and for converting filmed content for HDTV broadcast.

The FRC-7000 uses vector motion compensation processing to analyze and determine the pixel movement in each image frame. Advanced scene cut detection automatically detects scene changes and turns off motion compensation processing, so does not affect the scenes before and after the frames being converted.
