CYPRESS, CA, October 8, 2008 – FOR-A Corporation of America, a leading manufacturer of video and audio systems for the broadcast and professional video industries, announces the installation of two HVS-500HS switchers at Saddleback Church in Lake Forest, California. Saddleback Church purchased the HVS-500HS switchers through 2007 WFX Solomon Award-winning Olympia, WA-based systems consultant and integrator, CCI Solutions. The switchers were added as part of a new high definition video system for “The Refinery Project.”

“The Refinery Project” involved building a new facility to house all the church’s events for the youth of the community, as well as worship services. The facility has a 700-seat auditorium where high school seniors and college students attend services and a 600-seat gym for those in lower grades. The facility also provides concert-level digital audio and lighting system for worship services and other activities. Saddleback Church technical director, Greg Baker, explained that the choice to go with FOR-A’s HVS-500HS had as much to do with its capability to switch an HD/SDI 1080 signal as its competitive pricing.

“Our new facility is designed to bring together the youth of our community in a new and exciting way. We see them as our future and were willing to invest well for them,” said Greg Baker, Technical Director of Saddleback Church. “However, as with any facility, there is a financial reality to be considered when purchasing equipment. With our selection of the FOR-A HVS-500 switchers, we were able to satisfy both needs.”

The HVS-500HS is a self-contained switcher that accepts analog and digital HD and SD formats – with no external conversion required. One of the switcher’s innovations is its variety of input/output interfaces, including SD-SDI, HD-SDI, Analog Component SD and Analog Component HD. It can also connect to HDV cameras or PCs using component video break-out cables. The FOR-A HVS-500HS can be quickly installed and integrated.

Saddleback Church also added a number of JVC GY-HD250U cameras, RTS Intercom, Avitech multi-window processors, Bittree audio and video patchbays and Middle Atlantic racks. Audio is being handled by JBL PD5322 loudspeakers, JBL Vertec 4880A subs, BSS Soundweb London Blu DSP, Lab Gruppen Amps and processed through a Yamaha M7CL digital mixing console.
