New Line of MoCA® Filters Provides Long-Term Stability, Fewer Connection Points, and Less Chance of Tampering

DENVER — Oct. 28, 2009 — PPC®, a leader in connector and filter technology for more than 65 years, today introduced its new patent-pending MoCA® Tight™ weather-sealed filter and MoCA ground block plus filter at the 2009 SCTE Cable-Tec Expo® in Denver. The products will provide subscribers with the security they require and the multi-room DVR experience they expect, as in-home networking services continue to grow.

MoCA is the only universal industry standard that specifies coax for delivery of high-definition content around the home. With MoCA, subscribers can download high-definition programming to their set-top boxes, and through the user interface already available in their remote controls, send that same content to any room in the house. For the best multi-room DVR experience, physically isolating the home through the use of a low-pass filter is necessary to avoid interference from neighboring houses.

The PPC MoCA Tight filter includes an integrated weather seal, ensuring long-term stability and protection against moisture and corrosion. The MoCA ground block combines a ground block and MoCA filter into a single device. Together, these filters reduce the amount of connection points and tampering, providing an optimal multi-room DVR system experience.

"Consumers have high expectations for their multi-room DVR experience. We are excited to introduce our MoCA line of filters, which enables service providers to meet these expectations, while simplifying installations through fewer connection points to save them time and operational costs," said Dave Morrocco, vice president and general manager of broadband for PPC. "To reduce service calls, the devices' integrated weather seal and durable stainless steel construction provide for long-term, high-reliability performance."
