OPTI-mal Stage Effect! Elation’s New Opti 30 RGB Is Compact, Updated
Version Of Popular Color-Mixing LED Par Can
LOS ANGELES – Elation Professional has added a new model to its Opti Series of LED stage par cans. The new Opti 30 RGB is a high-output RGB color-mixing par can with 12 powerful 1-watt LEDs (4 red, 4 blue, 4 green), which can be combined via DMX to create virtually any color in the spectrum. Additionally, this versatile fixture comes equipped with smooth color changing macros, and manual control option.
A compact version of Elation’s popular Opti RGB, the Opti 30 LED is an ideal color-changing stage light for smaller spaces and also fits easily into 12” box truss for truss toning. Its 1-watt LEDs produce more vibrant colors than the typical truss toner, casting a dazzlingly brilliant glow on stage productions.
Designed to adapt to different situations, the Opti 30 RGB comes with a standard 25° beam angle lens, but can be modified if a wider angle is desired. It includes a Gel Frame Holder, which allows users to insert their own frost or diffusion filters for creating wide-angle effects. For added versatility, Elation will also be offering an optional 10° lens kit in the future (to be sold separately).
In addition to its compact size, the Opti 30 RGB features a number of new upgrades that make it the ultimate advanced color-changing fixture. One of these is new LED driver technology, which gives it flicker-free operation, making it ideal for TV and video applications. This cutting-edge technology improves upon the refresh rate of the LED drivers, so that no flickering is discernible on camera when dimming or cross-fading colors.
Another upgrade is a user-friendly LCD menu display for DMX addressing and function settings, which replaces the more complicated dipswitches, and makes set-up a snap. “We added the LCD menu in response to feedback from our customers, who said they wanted an easier means of DMX addressing than the cumbersome dipswitch-binary code method,” said Eric Loader, director of sales for Elation Professional. “We are upgrading many Elation fixtures to this LCD menu system.”
Yet another upgrade on the Opti 30 RGB is a double yoke. This feature allows the unit to be set on the floor for uplighting.
The Opti 30 RGB can be operated in 4 modes: DMX, Sound-Active, Macro and Auto. In the DMX mode, users can control 0-100% dimming and a color strobe effect. Depending on the features the user wishes to control, the Opti 30 RGB can be operated in 1, 2, 3, 4, 6 or 7 DMX channel modes.
Offered in 3 housing color options – black, silver or white -- the Opti 30 RGB can blend in with a variety of environments. The case itself is made of sturdy extruded aluminum, designed to withstand impact and provide a professional look and attractive theatrical aesthetics.
“The versatility of the Opti 30 RGB, both in its performance and housing options, takes it beyond the typical stage par can and makes it an ideal fixture for clubs, lounges, retail displays, video and architectural applications as well, with its output being comparable to most 150W halogen par cans,” said Loader.
As an LED-powered fixture, the Opti 30 RGB also offers numerous user advantages, including low heat output and very low energy consumption (19W at 120V, and 21W at 220V). Additionally, its LEDs have an extremely long life rated at 50,000 hours.
The Opti 30 RGB includes a built-in power supply and 3-pin DMX connection. It measures a compact 10”L x 7.25”W x 5.75”H and weighs 11 lbs. The MSRP of the Opti 30 RGB is $399.95.
