HaiVision Appoints Andy Vaughan as Director of Federal Sales

MONTREAL — Nov. 18, 2008 — HaiVision Systems Inc., the world's leading vendor of high- performance HD and SD H.264 encoders and codec systems, today announced the appointment of Andy Vaughan to the position of Director, U.S. Federal Sales.

Mr. Vaughan started his career in the U.S. Air Force as a Communications Officer and Network Engineer, responsible for the deployment and optimization of tactical IP networks. Through the past 10 years of civilian employment, Andy has held engineering, management, and sales positions at Lucent, VBrick Systems, and Sonic Foundry, and was most recently Director of Federal Sales at Rivulet Communications.

"We are thrilled to have Andy on board," stated Mirko Wicha, HaiVision's President and CEO. "Andy brings to HaiVision a significant and unique knowledge of the opportunities and challenges within the federal segment, combined with a solid technical footing with regard to advanced network video deployments."

HaiVision has had significant recent success in the federal market with its development of the PIRANHA encoders. The PIRANHA combines telemetry (ISR, UAV, KLV) metadata from serial ports or embedded within line 21 video, and includes that data within the compressed video stream.

In addition to the unique audio/video/data PIRANHA encoders, HaiVision's product technology includes the MAKO-HD, which delivers full-motion high definition (up to 1080p) and WXGA over IP networks using H.264 video compression with an imperceptible 70 milliseconds of end-to-end latency.
