The largest InfoComm event ever staged in Asia opens with 14,000 sqm of latest AV systems
(Hong Kong, 19 November 2008) InfoComm Asia 2008 - Asia’s only trade show dedicated to pro Audio Visual and Systems Integration - opens today (19 November 2008) with more than 220 exhibiting companies from 20 countries and regions presenting their newest technologies at the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre. This includes three group pavilions - Singapore, Taiwan and the USA. The three-day event is opened by Ms Au King-Chi, Commissioner for Tourism, Tourism Commission, Commerce and Economic Development Bureau, The Government of the HKSAR.
The largest InfoComm show ever staged in Asia occupying 14,000 sqm of exhibition space, InfoComm Asia offers valuable business and learning opportunities to Asia’s systems integrators and AV practitioners from a broad spectrum of industries such as transportation, security, education and training, building design and facility management, entertainment, leisure and hospitality, corporate IT and marketing, banking and finance, healthcare, worship and government services. The organizers expect some 14,000 AV practitioners from all over Asia to attend the trade exhibition and InfoComm Asia Summit program.
Visitors can expect to see latest AV systems, many being shown for the first time in Asia. Among these are Navitar’s new technology projection lenses that let you place the projector almost anywhere while maintaining high quality images; 360 degree LED displays from Dynascan; light- and power-efficient FLM projectors from Barco; innovative touchpanels offering rich user experience from Altinex; the first integrated iPod® speaker system from Bowers & Wilkins; Christie’s new M series of projectors with its dual mercury lamp platform; Da-Lite’s 3D Virtual Black flexible vinyl rear projection fabric; a unique viewer validation technology for digital signage networks from 1-2-1 View; and Goo Systems’ specially formatted highly reflective acrylic paint that transforms any smooth paintable surface into a high performance projection screen.
Other manufacturers using InfoComm Asia 2008 to launch their new products in Asia include Airfonix, AMX, Barix, Beijing Zhaoke Electronic Technology, Brahler & Quadra, Crestron, Fleetwood, Gefen, LG Electronics, Sennheiser, Stewart Filmscreen, Televic NV and Wolfvision. Technology pavilions showcasing current ‘hot’ applications are a special highlight of the event. These specialty pavilions are dedicated to Digital Signage with complete solutions for commercial and retail project managers looking to tap the power of digital signage; HD Conferencing and Telepresence presenting interactive and collaborative platforms to increase productivity and reduce travel costs; and Intelligent Home Solutions, led by CEDIA (Custom Electronic Design & Installation Association), featuring cutting edge solutions to homebuilders keen to expand the functionality and eventual value of their property.
In addition to the trade exhibition, visitors can also avail themselves to the extensive educational opportunities over the three days. The InfoComm Asia 2008 Summit is a comprehensive program of InfoComm Academy Seminars to update AV practitioners on standards and industry practices; Manufacturers’ Presentations to explain product technology in greater depth; and Industry-focused Conferences, viz. Transportation, Building, Facility Management and Education, to expose professional end users to AV applications. In conjunction with the Industry Conferences, technical site visits to the command and control centres of the Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA), the Hong Kong Mass Transit Railway(MTR) and the International Finance Centre 2 have been organized so that participants can get first-hand appreciation of AV applications in industries.
InfoComm Asia 2008 ends on Friday 21 November. On-site visitor registration is open from 10:00am daily. The show is open to trade and professionals only.
