JonyJib New Product Announcement
JonyJib introduces the A-EX8F Adapter for Fujinon controllers or the A-EX8C Adapter for Canon controllers. Either adapter will work with a switchable controller. Sony and the zoom controller manufacturers want you buy a whole new control unit to remotely control the zoom feature on your Sony EX1 or EX3. This is no longer required. Just purchase one of these adapter cables and continue to use your favorite Fujinon or Canon 8 pin zoom controller. These have also been tested with the popular Varizoom Pro-F and Pro-C controllers and work wonderfully! A 12 pin version will be available soon.
We tried to purchase these adapters from anybody that would sell them to us. We scoured the globe. No one would budge. So we decided to make them ourselves. Just plug the end of your controller into the adapter cable’s female 8 pin connector and the male end of the adapter cable into the grip of your Sony EX1 or EX3. It’s that simple.
Adapter length is 12". Cost $80 US.

Hah to VariZoom! Your adaptor works as promised; the VariZoom controller makes smoother zooms than the EX3 camera’s handgrip and everything on the VariZoom control works, including the Speed Control dial, the Record button and the Last Shot Review button. VariZoom told me this couldn’t be done and I’d have to buy a whole new controller. Not true! And your adaptor is beautifully made with high quality connectors and beefy strain relief. It’s the right answer for anyone who already owns a zoom control. Thank you so much, I’ll make sure to spread the fame of JonyJib where-ever I can.
But as I’m sure you already tested, when switched to the Canon mode it makes the EX3’s zoom go crazy.
