Standing Ovation: Redesigned Versalite Platform System Offers Notable Improvements
New Leg Pocket Design and Surface Options
Recent improvements to the Versalite® Platform System – long a standard at churches across North America – make these flexible staging platforms even more user-friendly and attractive.
To provide faster setup and a sturdier, more solid stage, Wenger redesigned the leg pocket mechanism that attaches Versalite legs to Versalite decks. It now offers an easier, more secure connection by simply turning the attached knob. This new clamping method contacts the leg in multiple places – unlike setscrews – so it improves lateral stability and prevents leg damage.
Customers are appreciating the improvement. “When I compared our new Versalite platforms with those we purchased years ago, I noticed that Wenger keeps improving the design, including how the legs attach and clamp down,” explains Timothy Hein, Director of Music and Arts at Shandon United Methodist Church in Columbia, South Carolina. “Wenger makes high-quality products that keep getting better!” As part of a recent renovation, Hein’s church added to its inventory of Wenger portable risers for two choir rehearsal rooms.
In addition to the improved leg pocket design, Wenger now offers two black Versalite surfaces: heavy-duty (Quadripple) and standard (Moroccan). Both surfaces provide excellent traction, even when wet. Other surface options include natural hardboard, charcoal carpet or carpet-ready. Unlike most common laminates, Versalite surfaces will not curl or peel.
The Versalite Platform System sets up quickly in dozens of configurations for flat or multi-level stages, choir risers, band risers, drum risers, speaker platforms, etc. Fixed, telescoping and custom leg lengths are available. Its attractive aluminum frame offers easy mobility and lightweight strength without any cross braces.
