D&M PROFESSIONAL LAUNCHES EDUCATION SOLUTIONS DIVISION AND WEBSITE
DECEMBER 14th, 2006
D&M Professional, parent company of Denon Professional and Marantz Professional, is pleased to announce the launch of the D&M Professional Education Solutions Division (ESD). As part of the new division, the company announced the simultaneous introduction of www.education.d-mpro.com, a website that will act as a hub for up-to-the-minute information and advice regarding trends, techniques and technology for all types of audio-visual enterprise.
The leading brands of D&M Professional have provided cutting-edge audio and video technology for more than 70 years. Via the new Education Solutions Division and its associated website, D&M Professional will share its unique knowledge and insight with the entire university community on a 24/7 global basis. The goal is to support university AV departments and campus technical managers with product and application information relating to audio/video recording and playback. To further this goal, the website will feature a discussion forum for sharing information on AV technology trends and solutions in educational environments, along with extensive product and practical application information. Online resources available at the site will include case studies, white papers and links on key topics like podcasting, visual messaging, archiving, event recording, streaming, digital signage, field recording and distance learning.
Podcasting is one of several new-media activities in which D&M Professional brands have taken a leadership position with products such as the Marantz PMD660 Portable Compact Flash Recorder. The field of podcasting is a prime example of where the new Education Solutions Division and the integrated website can help students and teachers use technology to maximize their educational experience. Podcasting can be useful for the dissemination of classroom lectures and supplementary materials, along with functioning as a school information outlet. The new ESD website (www.education.d-mpro.com) will foster active discussion about topics such as how on-demand narrowcasting allows students to retrieve information, including enrichment materials, for viewing or listening at their preferred time. Techniques such as downloading, podcasting, lecture recording, AV networking and more will help AV managers and professors covering areas such as broadcasting, visual messaging, oral history, speech pathology, linguistics and music.
"The creation of the new Education Solutions Division and website will add another dimension to how media technology further enables education," comments Peter Papageorge, D&M Professional Director of Sales and Marketing. "The ESD and associated website also underscore D&M Professional's ongoing commitment to using our technology to
