The Anatomy of an HD Video System - TW2
           
This all-day class will dissect the anatomy of a High definition video system. First, we’ll look at the history of high-definition technologies in churches and cover formats and standards that define signal transmission. Next, we’ll look at HD cameras; their product categories, their appropriate applications and approximate costs. We’ll continue our discussion by investigating studio components (switchers, multi-viewers and monitors) that drive the HD video system. Finally, we’ll discuss recorders, distribution and display devices that serve as content destinations for our high-definition video systems.

Webcasting Production for Houses of Worship - TW3           
This workshop will focus on audio and video production techniques, as it relates to the creation of streaming media files for the internet. This workshop will discuss the tools used to create streaming media, and the streaming media workflow process. Understanding the foundation for audio and video production is essential to getting the best possible media format deployed to your ministry website. Attendees will learn how to successfully create and produce audio and video content that will achieve the highest quality streaming media files. There will be FREE streaming media giveaways for all that attend this session.

This class will cover the non-negotiable aspects of building healthy technical teams, both spiritually and in task, Vision and Mission, Your Target Audience, Behind Every Healthy Team Is A Healthy Leader, Communication Techniques, Avoiding Burn Out, Growing Spiritually Comes Before Task as well as how to subtlety introduce technical media tools of audio, video, lighting and stage applications and more.

Video Formats for the Web - TFWS4           
In this session we will discuss the different types of video formats, bit rates, encoding programs and compression methods. You will learn how to successfully use these formats to deploy the best–looking media content for your website to reach a broader audience. We will deal with the entire process, from selecting the right video format and encoding tools to calculating the right bitrates and compression ratios. Attendees are encouraged to bring a laptop for one-on-one interaction and group participation during this session.

Defining the Role of Tech Director - TFWS6           
Knowing how important the use of technical media tools are in today's worship experience, a leader that can drive the technical media area "technically", and also build, sustain and nurture "spiritually" healthy technical teams is equally as important. We will discuss the role that a Technical Director can, and needs to take to achieve success in bridging and supporting the word of God through the use of the technical tools and their teams. We will also discuss leadership qualities, wanted expectations from both the church and the Technical Director, salaries and team building musts.

During this session, we will talk about the concept of multisite, and why it has worked for certain congregations . We will draw insights from both small and large churches with multi-site setups for this seminar.

SUPER SESSION: Enhancing the Experience: Developing Immersive Atmospheres Using Video - TSS2
Video is quickly becoming an integral part of the modern worship experience. To do it right, you'll need to talk about everything- from goals to gear. Do you want to create an IMAG experience? Want song lyrics projected on eye-popping visual backgrounds? What is edge-blending? What software should you use? Rear or front screen projection? Do digital signs fit into this? In this intensive Super Session, we'll talk about how to create impacting video solutions, in a 'goals to gear' format that will make sense to all attendees. Communication, content, and connectivity will all be studied as we determine the best way for your house of worship to create a fully immersive atmosphere with these integral technical tools.

Moving Lights 101 - TFWS16     
     
In this seminar we will discuss the types, uses and terms behind moving or intelligent lighting to today's house of worship in plain straightforward language. Care and feeding of the equipment along with the pro and cons of moving lights versus a conventional lighting rig. We will also discuss staff needs and congregational concerns. A fixture will be available for "exploration". This is a beginner to intermediate level tech course with no prior lighting experience necessary.

This workshop examines 3-4 different system integration projects at real churches. We’ll begin by looking at the main drivers and key challenges on each project. We’ll describe how these items were dealt with successfully or not, and how they affected the outcome of the overall project. Finally, we’ll look at what lessons were learned on each project, so participants are better equipped for future success.

Mixing for Worship - TFWS19           
Most modern worship venues require a sound reinforcement operator/mixer. This role has a major impact on the live worship experience, and may be as much art as it is science. In this session, we'll discuss console techniques that lead to an audio mix that supports excellence in corporate worship. Topics will include proper console gain staging to blending, tonal shaping, dynamics processing, creative effects, and more. Also included will be a look at loudness perception as it applies to the worshipper.

Has your house of worship decided to put on a production? What things in retrospect do you wish you had known about ahead of time? This session is a roundtable discussion for show production for small to mid sized churches. What are the pitfalls and the challenges church productions crews face when they decide to do a large scale production? This is a show design conceptual idea exchange. We will have panelists represented who each necessary technical area- audio, video, lighting, production and staging. We will be looking at best and worst case scenarios of projects.
