Sunday 7th September


Video Projection: Displays in Worship
Time: 11:00am - 12:30pm



How big and bright does my screen need to be? What are the appropriate light levels and contrast ratio? What is edge blending? What are multi-channel systems and repeater screens? What is digital signage? What should you know about projector noise level, and front/rear projection? These topics and more will be covered in this session.

Dynamic Worship by Design
Time: 1:15pm – 2:45pm



Transforming a room/auditorium into a sanctuary for worship. This seminar will teach you how to use the latest technology and innovative techniques to create a praise friendly environment. We will be concentrating on the role of the technical team and ways they can enhance the worship experience. Whether planning for a new building or trying to solve problems in a 100-year-old sanctuary this seminar is for you.

The Power of Video Presentations
Time: 3:30pm - 5:00pm



Learn techniques for using video imagery in co-operation with lyric presentations to create engaging worship environments

Monday 8th September



Acoustics in Worship

Time:11:00am – 12:30pm



This class examines the relationship that noise in the room has with the system, and how it affects what is heard by the listener. This class is an absolute MUST for everyone involved with music, worship or sound.

Working with Houses of Worship Building Committees
Time: 1:15pm – 2:45pm


Keys to clear communication with church committee members, deacons and elders. How to effectively talk about technology, architecture and the function of various worship styles. Advancing planning and design with the church committee will help to budget the church's monies more effectively for both building and remodeling facilities.

Loudspeakers in Worship I & II
Time: 3:30pm – 5:00pm


A mixture of special acoustic conditions and project reality based on examples of recent installations in houses of worship. Well-rounded discussion/presentations on acoustics and the signal path from the loudspeaker to the listener's ear.

Preparing for Services and Events

Time: 11.00am - 12.30pm


If you're not in control, you're out of control. Learn to keep staff, musicians and artists focused as we discuss techniques for effective timeline planning and production preparation to help make your next event a success.

Lighting Workshop
Time:1:15pm – 2:45pm


The workshop will start with a look at the standard lighting fixtures and compare that to where we are going, LED technology in fixtures to help meet the 'green' requirements in new construction. Also we will look at new ways to distribute DMX, or the wireless revolution.

Wednesday 10th September


Introducing Change without Offending Almost Anyone

Time:10:30am – 12:00pm


This class will focus on what takes place when change is implemented - and the non-negotiable aspects of building healthy technical teams, both spiritually and in task. Topics include: defining change from a traditional to a contemporary style of worship, your target audience, behind every healthy team is a healthy leader, communication techniques, avoiding burn out, crowing spiritually comes before task, and more.

Defining the role of Technical Director in today's contemporary Houses of Worship
Time: 12:45pm – 2:15pm


Knowing how important the use of technical media tools are in today's worship experience, a leader that can drive the technical media area 'technically', and also build, sustain and nurture 'spiritually' healthy technical teams is equally as important. We will discuss the role that a Technical Director can, and needs to take to achieve success in bridging and supporting the Word Of God through the use of the technical tools and their teams. We will also discuss leadership qualities, wanted expectations from both the church and the Technical Director, salaries and team-building 'musts'.
