It’s Not Rocket Science, But it is Rocket Art: Ancient Realities in Postmodern Worship Spaces
Every weekend across this country millions gather for Christian worship in spaces that are essentially concert halls where the “body language” of the environment says “sit back relax and enjoy the show.” If worship however, is to be participation and not performance then that’s a huge disconnect right out of the gate. It hasn’t always been this way. This discussion will focus on what our pre-electrical forebears knew about intimacy and connectedness in assembly environments and what that means for us today in creating the right balance of the natural “body language” of the room overlaid with modern technological bells and whistles. Ahh the beauty of a “both/and” postmodern world!
