Bio:
Alex Kendrick has been the Associate Pastor of Media for Sherwood Baptist Church in Albany, Georgia since 1999. After five years in Christian radio and seven years in Christian television, he started a motion picture ministry out of Sherwood in 2003 with their production of “Flywheel”, which he wrote, produced, and directed. This $20,000 movie was seen in theaters and is now distributed by Sony Pictures on DVD. It won seven awards and is still shown on numerous television networks around the world. He also wrote and directed their second project, “Facing the Giants”, which took a step up in production quality and was released theatrically nationwide in the fall of 2006 by Sony. It is now on DVD in 56 countries. Alex is now working on Sherwood’s third movie, “Fireproof”, to be released in the fall of 2008.
Alex received his bachelor’s degree in Communications from Kennesaw State University before attending seminary through the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. He lives in Albany with his wife and five children.
