Bio:
John David Ware is the Founder, Director and President of the 168 Hour Film Project, which has birthed 226 short films in five years. The 168 Hour Film Project is a worldwide competition, in which films are based on a Bible verse and created in one week (168 Hours). Films from all over the world premiere at the 168 Film Festival. A jury of Hollywood professionals rate films based on their faithfulness to the Word of God. Thus, the 168 Project effectively redefines "Success at any cost" as "Success God's way."
"168" has helped propel the lives and careers of hundreds of media professionals all over the world by teaching them to focus on God's Word in their work. Each year, 1500 people come to Los Angeles for the 168 Film Festival, which is in April 2008.
John's writing credits include MISSION FIELD, based on a true story of a missionary in Cameroon, and UNCLE FRANK a comedic fantasy about a boy and his uncle's dog. John has written and directed a comedic spoof of Hollywood stereotypes entitled "The Chronicles of Hernia: the Lion, the Ditch and the Studio," due in 2007. The film is about a backsliding, eccentric director making an epic film on a micro budget (chroniclesofhernia.com).
Originally from Columbus Ohio, John went to film school at Miami University and graduated with honors. In 1998, he co-founded SLATE Entertainment Fellowship at Bel Air Presbyterian Church, which he led for 5 years.
John is a consultant for the Production and Post-Production industries in Los Angeles, where he lives with his co-star, Franklin B. Dog.
The Technologies for Worship Conferences are a chance for me to connect with the people across the country who are using the tools of the present day as they were intended. Today's pioneers are building a reputation for excellence that we haven't seen in Christian media in a long time. If Michelangelo were alive today, he'd be at Technologies for Worship.
