Bio:
Ray Rayburn is very well known in the church sound world, and is considered to be a leading authority in the field. He has written articles on sound for houses of worship for Church Sound Magazine and Church Production magazine, is a major contributor on the Church Sound Check Internet discussion group, and is the Editor of the Audio Newsletter for Technologies for Worship Magazine.
Ray has been an engineer in acoustics, audio systems, and telecommunications for over 38 years. He is a Fellow of the Audio Engineering Society, and a member the Acoustical Society of America. He is Chairman of the AES Standards Subcommittee on Interconnections, and the working group on Audio Connectors. He is a member and former Chairman of the AES Technical Committee on Signal Processing, and is one of the authors of the Handbook for Sound Engineers, which is considered the "bible" of professional audio design.
He has created some of the most advanced software-based project designs in use today, including the United States Senate Chamber, and taught the "advanced users" training seminars on the MediaMatrix configurable DSP product.
As a recording engineer for RCA, Ray recorded the Chicago Symphony, the Philadelphia Orchestra, and Frank Zappa.
