PRODUCT SHOWCASED at TFWM: The SeaChanger Color Engine

ABOUT THE globalSAN X-4: The SeaChanger Color Engine is a dynamic CYMG color changer for ETC Source Four Ellipsoidals. The SeaChanger uses patented Ocean Optics dichroic filter technology to create a nearly endless palette of stable, reproducible colors that do not shift or fade with time or temperature.

Patented “Extreme Green” RGB Filter
The SeaChanger employs four patterned dichroic filters -- cyan, yellow, magenta and a patented xG “Extreme Green” trichromic RGB filter. The xG filter extends the CYM color gamut, enabling you to create deep blues, rich reds and vibrant greens. The xG filter also adds “natural” overtones and nuance to the standard CYM palette, creating a new dimension in realistic scenery lighting. Though the xG filter wheel is standard, a variable neutral density dimmer wheel is available in its place.

Dichroic Filters Resist Heat & Humidity
Our patented coatings method allows us to create micron-scale precision patterning of dichroic coatings on a single color wheel, with resolution, transmission efficiency and durability that's far superior to dye-colored gels and other technologies. Our filters are so hardened they are essentially ceramic in nature, making the filters resistant to heat and humidity and eliminating the need for noisy cooling fans.

Shhh . . . Can You Hear That?
The SeaChanger operates silently. That’s because its dichroic filters are so robust that noisy cooling fans -- so distracting with gel scrollers -- aren’t necessary.

Simple Installation, Maintenance-Free
The SeaChanger fits between the lamp and the lens module of the Source Four. With its convenient bayonet mount, the installation is quick and efficient. Simply transfer the Source Four’s yoke onto the SeaChanger for suspension. (An optional extended 16.5" yoke for down lighting is available.) With the SeaChanger, there are no burned, broken or jammed gel strings to replace and periodic cleaning is as easy as removing a few setscrews.

Compatibility
The SeaChanger is compatible with all beam-shaping ETC Source Four accessories including (clockwise, top left) gobos, gobo rotators, gobo changers and all field-of-view barrels.

DMX512, RDM & Manual Control
The SeaChanger is a self-contained unit with an internal power supply. You can operate the SeaChanger from a 4-channel DMX512 controller, from an RDM device, and from the SeaChanger’s front-panel membrane keypad with 3-digit LED display.
