TUESDAY JUNE 8TH, 2010 8:00am - 4:30pm ALL Day Audio Workshop This seminar is a HANDS-ON, interactive workshop specifically designed for the volunteers in churches who operate the sound equipment. This all day workshop will provide attendees with the opportunity to immediately apply and to experience HANDS-ON the theories and principles of sound engineering. You will learn the theories and principles of sound engineering, such as understanding and using EQ, Gain Structure, compressors, gates and much more. Attendees will learn how to maximize the performance of each piece of equipment and provide listeners with a smooth, intelligible, and consistent sound throughout the listening area. Sound system operators, pastors, music directors and musicians from all over the U.S. are invited to attend to receive accurate, concise and understandable methods for operating sound systems correctly in the house of worship environment. We will discuss codecs, protocols, latency issues, synching and many other advanced concepts. Dan Stark, President, Stark Raving Solutions 10:30am - 12:00pm Webcasting Production: Encoding, Delivery and Management This workshop will focus on the streaming media workflow and process after content has been produced and captured. Beginning with encoding, we will demonstrate how streaming media encoders work and discuss best practices, such as bit rates, screen size, frames per second, and which codecs to use. Cross-platform player embedding issues will be discussed, as well as simple scripting for controlling streaming media players.
